This information will be moving as soon as I finish creating a new Home Page. Will be Moved to "About Notions and Needs". I am very sorry to those who try to sign up, I do not allow it at this time. I was originally going to allow people to sign up and did, but it opened the door to undesirable activity on the site, I just couldn't keep up with hackers trying to slip through the back door, so I had to lock it. Just save me to your favorites for now, it's the only option I have in place right now.

Notions

You do not hear the term notion very often these days. I use to hear it all the time as a child, " I have a notion to take that fishing pole away for a week, so you can remember what time dinner is" or "I have a good notion to get that hair cut, if you can't stay out of those burs". I wanted an easy to remember URL, so I decided to use notions for my terminology and in the same breath, it just plain fits.
I have more notions than my grandmother's sewing machine cabinet drawers. I thought it may be nice to share a few. Perhaps help someone out here and there in the process as well.

Needs

I was talking with a couple women that were at a social worker's event and we started talking about how so many young adults have not been taught the skills that the children of yesteryear were taught. We all agreed that there should be some way for people who may have a need for some quick advise. Quick meals, cleaning, shopping, perhaps an eye opener or two. (I sure never thought I'd be where I am at the age of fifty.) Hind sight is 20/20 ya' know.
I have a huge need to communicate. I'm not one to keep to myself. Everyone has needs. Daily needs, monthly needs, they come in all forms. Please fulfill my need, to not be so isolated and hopefully I can return it for a few needs you may have as well.

Notions and Needs is what I like to refer to as a living website. This means it has feelings, personality, changes often and not like all the other websites out there. You will never know what you'll find.

A Work In Progress

I would really like to build a community of "needy" people. A community with a notion to address those needs.

I'd like to have surveys, forums, maybe an advice column type thing as well. Not to mention, talk to you instead of myself for a change.

On August 1st 2015 this blog will begin. Follow along from the beginning and see if you like it, see where it goes. It might be fun, might just be informative, either way it will probably be a train wreck. If your in to train wrecks, be sure to watch this one. (* Grins ) Stop in and see what your internet neighbor is up to today.

Update: It's looking like it will more than likely take me about 5 years to really get this site to a place I want it to be before I go public, so If you have stumbled upon Notions and Needs, I am grateful that you did and I love hearing from people, so feel free to comment with ideas or insight, it's always welcome.

Bottom Line

I decided to start this blog to seek advise and to share advise. Every day, notions and needs would be bouncing around in my mind. I am quite creative, pretty resourceful, fairly intelligent and rather insightful, so figured it had to be worth something. After my neck injury, finding employment was tricky. I quickly figured out, that I had to be self employed, if I were to make any kind of income for myself and family. I had plenty of notions and quite a few needs, so I came up with Notions and Needs. I figured I could create a website for sharing all of my notions and in turn, perhaps it will address a few needs. It already has addressed quite a few of my needs. The biggest of which, is allowing my mind to concentrate on being creative, more so, than worrying. I'm going to take it one day at a time and see where it goes. This website is about notions and needs pertaining to home and life. Being someone who has always lived on a rather low income, I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to that.  The ups and downs, tips and tricks and the Notions and Needs. I'm hoping that sharing all this will help others and in turn it helps me as well. I have always claimed to be an open book, read away if you like.
